This book was so miserable for me that it was hard to read. How can the writer have such an evil heart? How can the writer be so mean and make Melody unable to speak? HOW?? And how come her quiz teammates treat her like trash?
I believe this book would be better if Melody had supportive friends all around her, not someone like Claire or Molly.
I was also so surprised when the people left Melody for herself and just went alone to Washington without informing her, without even trying! That was so cruel. I wanted Melody to go to Washington, have a hard time there, especially in math, and get the tiebreaker question, which is math, and then fail. Then, the teammates would support her, and the next year, they get the trophy. That’s the ideal story that I like. A happy ending. Well, writers never like “happily ever after,” do they?
Overall, I think Melody will overcome her disabilities using more technology and play a huge role in the book! SO SAD!
