This newspaper article is about the well-known Russia-Ukrainian war and a man named Mykola Kulichenko. Let me tell you about his sorrowful tales. He was abducted as a civilian, survived a Russian execution attempt by a stroke of luck, and then climbed out of his own grave by pushing through the dirt heaped above him. Is that too simple?
Firstly, he was abducted as a citizen with his brothers. The Russians tortured and interrogated them, and when they heard some bad news (for them), they decided to kill them all to hide the evidence of the torture. The Russians loaded them in a truck and dug a grave. Then, the Russians brutally murdered his brothers. A bullet passed right through Mykola Kulichenko's cheek, and he lay still on the ground, playing dead.
Without much thought, the Russians put them in the grave and drove away. However, Mykola Kulichenko decided to dig out of his grave and somehow managed to escape back to Ukraine, and he recreated a Mission Impossible movie in real life.
He has used his second lease on life to care for his elderly father and return to raising ducks and chickens on a farm in northern Ukraine. But he said he still has trouble sleeping, as he flashes back to being shot and buried alive, then finding his way home with his body covered in bruises and his cheek bleeding and tremendously swollen. Ukraine expects him to return to the army to participate in the Russia-Ukrainian war. However he believes that he should not go back to the army since he has gone through a significant ordeal.
I believe that Mykola Kulichenko should go back to the army since having trauma does not mean an excuse not to go to the army, which everyone is going by force. Maybe the Government has to have a trial, but I doubt that they have the time to have a court hearing in the middle of a severe war.
